Flip, Sip, and Zip – Excitement Abounds at Oxford’s Legacy 925 Center

If you had a 200,000-square-foot defunct boat factory, what would you do with it? Legacy 925, or The Legacy Center, is Oxford, Michigan’s answer. This massive structure is an entertainment complex complete with an airpark (flip), bar and restaurant (sip), and indoor electric high-speed go-kart racing (zip). And that’s not the half of it. With a wide variety of things to experience inside the building, you’re sure to find something to fit your mood. The Legacy Center is one of Oxford, Michigan’s best things to do.

Axe Social

Axe Social, located past G’s Pizzeria at the north end of the building, is more than just axe throwing. There is a range of activities here, and since it connects with the sports bar, you can enjoy your drinks or food while participating in the following:

Axe Throwing – Non-vikings welcome. Don’t worry if there is no actual Viking blood coursing through your veins, enhancing you with natural axe-throwing ability; a skilled coach is assigned to you for the duration of your play time to teach you and help you get the most out of your experience. (To be honest, it’s likely to keep the insurance from reaching Jeff Bezos-like levels.)

Street Curling – Street Curling is a laid-back activity suitable for most ages and abilities. There’s no need to worry about the cold since there is no ice, and nobody has to scrub the path for your stone to keep sliding.

Bowling – Like a traditional bowling alley, they provide shoes and balls, or you can bring your own. If you’re visiting during warm weather, remember to bring socks; you heathen.

Darts – Play a relaxing (or competitive) game of darts in a cozy corner with comfy seating.

Billiards – Several pool tables are close to the bar, so you don’t have far to go for a refill between turns.

We love this part of the Legacy Center. The staff is helpful and friendly, the bar staff is attentive when ordering drinks or food, and G’s pizza is excellent (love that Margherita pizza). The atmosphere is unique and provides a great view of the Go Karts from the back end of the track. You can even sit on raised metal decking over the top of the track while enjoying your drinks. Be sure to plan and book your time at https://theaxesocial.com/.

But Wait, There’s More! (Is There More in the Legacy Center?)

There really is much more inside the Legacy Center, especially for nearby folks. These are more health and wellness-type businesses or those that have ongoing classes. Since we focus on day trips and travel, we have highlighted the businesses you may want to drop in and check out for more short-term fun. Sometimes, the building hosts events using the entire structure, like New Year’s Eve, Benefits, and the Oxford High School Senior All Night Party, so it is always best to check out the website before finalizing your plans legacy925.com. Also, consider checking the individual businesses to confirm hours and prices for anything you want.

Overall, Legacy 925 could be a full day of fun. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all available. Various options to mix and match throughout the day for entertainment are at your fingertips.

Although Hidden Gems doesn’t usually feature franchises, the unique nature of the boat factory-turned-fun factory makes it a hidden gem. It’s an all-day, nonstop, fun building. The building itself is impressive as a repurposed manufacturing facility. Go ahead. Stop in and make a day of it.

P.S. On a more somber but supportive note… Oxford has been in the news for the tragic events of November 30, 2021. During the dark days that followed, The Legacy Center and its many businesses threw wide their doors and held the students of Oxford High School close, so close. They did what we all hope someone will do when we’re hurting; they cared for our children, loved them, and gave them a safe place to grieve and connect. If you do visit, take a moment to appreciate the Oxford wall just south of K1 Speed. It’s a two-story “O”, signed by hundreds and hundreds of students. We love you, Oxford.
