Water Tower Sports Pub in Lexington: From Scratch Food and all Michigan Beers on tap!

Water Tower Sports Pub in Lexington, Michigan, sits along M25 under, you guessed it, the Worth Township Water Tower. Inside this unassuming building is fantastic food, delicious Michigan craft beers, and the wonderful couple who serves it all up with a smile! Greg makes all the food from scratch – as fresh and local as possible, while Stephanie and her crew make sure it gets to you hot and tasty. The beer list is carefully curated to offer as wide a variety of Michigan craft beers as possible, and some of them are pure surprises!

Unassuming Building, Amazing Food and Drink

While the Water Tower Sports Pub building may not stand out as you pass by on M25, you will definitely want to stop and check out what’s happening on the inside. We enjoyed a basket of hand-cut Michigan Potato fries and an outstanding freshly made Detroit-style Supreme pizza and loved every bite. We have also heard great things about their hand-tossed pizza.

Hand-Crafted Food

The sauce and crust are all made fresh in-house. Greg also makes a fresh gluten-free pizza crust. He chatted with us about the extra steps he goes through to create the crust and makes sure that he does everything he possibly can to avoid cross-contamination with the regular crust so his customers can confidently enjoy their gluten-free pizza. Cleaning the kitchen five times is a labor of love. He truly and deeply cares for his customers and wants to serve delicious hand-crafted food that will more than satisfy you.

Michigan Beers on Tap

The list of Michigan Beers and ciders on tap is impressive. We are huge fans of sour beers, which are hard to find. They had not just one but several on tap. I think we tried them all, and they were all delicious. Water Tower Sports Pub has a wide variety of beers, so don’t worry if you don’t like sours; you will indeed find one ( or many) you like.

Some of the beers we tasted:

  • Odd Side Margarita: yes, it’s a beer; it tastes more like a margarita and is quite good.
  • Odd Side Queen of Tarts: Sour Beer; very tart and super delicious
  • Transient Poppin Pastels Marionberry: Sour Beer; medium tart and very good
  • Transient Blueberry Cobbler Smolverine: Sour Beer; mildly tart and very sweet; you can definitely taste some of the “cobbler” in that one. (Seriously, this one is like swirling some firewater around the bottom of a Smuckers jar. It was good, but wow, was it sweet!)
  • Transient Peach Fresh Kicks: Sour Beer; medium tart and tastes good
