Raven Cafe: The Most Enchanting Coffeehouse, Evermore

The Raven Cafe in downtown Port Huron is a quirky coffee shop stylized after Edgar Allen Poe. And yet, it is so much more than that. Raven Cafe is a coffeehouse, cafe, library, art gallery, and bar! Enchanting is an understatement and you must go to appreciate all that it has to offer.

So Much to See at Raven Cafe

There is so much to look at inside and out. Artwork, architecture, decor, and books are all a delight to the eyes. The unique atmosphere invites you to switch gears and soak up the details. The sensation of just being in the space and soaking up all it has to offer is a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the everyday.

What to do When You Get There

The cafe is run a bit differently than your standard coffee shop and is more like a restaurant/bar. If you plan to have your drinks and food in the cafe, wander around and find a cozy spot to sit. If you don’t see anything available on the main floor, remember to check on the upper level as well. The friendly waitstaff will take your order and bring it to you. If you are getting your drinks to go, belly up to the bar and place your order. Be sure to look around at all the interesting art and books while you wait for your handcrafted drink. It gets hectic here at peak times, so plan your trip accordingly.

Raven Cafe Library

The Raven Cafe holds an entire mini library, complete with sections organized by genre. The genre sections are regularly maintained and updated, so check them out whenever you visit. You may find your new favorite book. Be sure to select a book and read some lines while you eat or drink. There is a system to save your spot if you want to return and read from the same book again. See their website or ask the staff for details.

Delicious Food and Drink

The Raven cafe serves delicious alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts. Consider the potato salad option if you get a meal with a side. I am picky about potato salads, and theirs is outstanding! We have had the Pit and Pendulum Grilled Reuben, Mother’s Sinful Sicilian, brownies, cookies, and various drinks. Everything was delicious! Stop in for lunch or dinner; you won’t be disappointed.
