Nicky D’s Burgerz in Port Huron is Nostalgia at its Best

Nicky D’s Burgerz in Port Huron is a superb choice for lunch. Nostalgic is an understatement, and the food is delicious. The building stood out just as much as our tasty lunch. I love crows, who love to collect shiny objects, and must have some connection with them because all I could say was, “It’s so shiny!” Check it out and see if you agree.

Nicky D’s Burgerz is Close to Downtown

Nicky D’s was a delightful stop while visiting Port Huron, and it is very close to most of the things we like to do in the city. The restaurant is on the same street as the Historic Downtown area, close to the Carnegie Center Museum and near the St. Clair and Black Rivers. If you are driving south of downtown, you can’t miss it!

Nostalgic Atmosphere

We stopped in for lunch and sat at the counter. Nicky D’s Burgerz has a long counter and several booths as seating options. Everything is clean and bright. It looks like a diner straight out of the 1950s. There is no “kitchen”. Everything is made in the galley kitchen on the other side of the counter, so you can chat with the cooks and watch them expertly cook up your order.

Delicious Food at Nicky D’s Burgerz

We ordered a Slinger Corned Beef Sandwich with seasoned fries and a Fried Chicken Pita plus bacon (as recommended by our waitress) with onion rings. The sandwiches were generously stuffed full of meat and toppings. The fries and onion rings were crisp and delicious. We enjoyed it all very much.

Plan a trip to Port Huron and add Nicky D’s Burgerz to your list. It’s an excellent stop for good food and a trip back in time.
