Midland Street Books in Bay City: Find Your Next Favorite Book

We often look for good used bookstores, and Midland Street Books in Bay City didn’t disappoint. This quaint little shop is packed with wonderful books.

Midland Street Area

Midland Street Books is in downtown Bay City. We chatted with the owner, and discovered that there are actually three different areas of downtown Bay City. Midland Street is one area that is across the Saginaw River from the larger downtown areas. Midland Street is going through a bit of a revival, and we saw signs of new businesses preparing to open. Next time you are in Bay City, be sure to pop over the bridge from downtown and check out the Midland Street area.

Quality Books and Store

The books are in excellent condition and well organized on the shelves. It is easy to find what you are looking for by topic or author, and friendly staff can help you. The atmosphere is bright and cheerful. Though the Books fill the shelves from floor to ceiling, it’s easy to take a book out to look at it more closely. The owner carefully arranges books to allow enough room for convenient perusal.

Two Floors of Books

Midland Street Books has two levels. The airy main floor has big windows in the front, which let in a lot of natural daylight. The well-lit basement is filled with full shelves and a cozy kid’s area so they can look for books, too.

Our Treasures and Yours

We were able to find a few books to bring home with us. We got a couple of books on Michigan and a compilation of scary stories from the Edwardian and Victorian Eras—fun things to fuel our downtime. Whatever your preferences, you will surely find something you like at Midland Street Books. Stop in and find your next favorite book!
