Lake Inn in Lapeer, Michigan is a Delicious Destination off the Beaten Path
Tucked off the beaten path, Lake Inn in Lapeer, Michigan, beckons with the promise of a tasty meal well worth the drive. Nestled on the shores of Nepessing Lake, just a short jaunt off I69, this hidden gem boasts a charmingly rustic atmosphere, beautiful views, and a delightful dining experience.
Visiting Lake Inn
As you wind your way along a residential road, Lake Inn unveils itself, ideally situated on the tranquil shores of Nepessing Lake. You can find parking across the street, with an overflow lot nearby for peak times. Our November Sunday afternoon visit revealed a cozy ambiance, with various groups scattered across the restaurant and bar areas. While the summer buzzes with activity on the expansive deck overlooking the lake, our off-season visit offered a more intimate experience.
Atmosphere at Lake Inn
We were seated promptly and looked over the menu while taking in the ambiance of Lake Inn in Lapeer. The lodge-style decor invites you to relax and unwind like you are on vacation. The walls, floors, ceiling, and tables were honey-toned wood brightened with natural light from all the windows facing the lake.
Soup!
We both ordered soup with our entrees: Loaded Potato and Bean soups. They were both delicious and tasted just like homemade from scratch. A pleasant surprise!
Tasty Entrees
Our entrees were generously sized portions and very tasty! We had Mac-N-Cheese and a Pot Roast in a bread bowl which we enjoyed very much. When we eat out, we try to order different things and share a bit so that we have the opportunity to taste more things, and I have to say that Pot Roast was perfect.
Daydreams
We look forward to a return trip to Lake Inn in Lapeer and hopefully getting a seat on the deck near the water. As the snow falls from the sky and the temps begin to take a deep dive, it’s nice to daydream about summer weather. Maybe we will meet you there on the deck!
