Champane’s Honeybee Grille: Little Diner, Big Taste
Champane’s Honeybee Grille in Metamora, Michigan, is a tiny little diner on the side of M24. You might not even notice it driving by, which would be a huge mistake. This little diner serves breakfast and lunch with great food and excellent staff. Make sure you stop in for a tasty meal. They are on the East side of M24 just north of Dryden Rd.
The Diner
The diner is small and well organized to comfortably seat as many people as possible. If you enjoy chatting with the waitstaff and other customers, you can choose to sit at the counter. From there, you get a scoop on how things are going, what’s happening around the area, and a peak into the well-run kitchen. Seriously, it’s like clockwork in there. For a more intimate seating arrangement, choose a booth, many of which have windows that let in the morning sunshine. The decor is cheerful, just like the staff. Everything is clean and inviting.
The owners of the restaurant also are beekeepers. Their delicious local honey is sold in the diner and adorns some of their dishes. If you don’t have time to dine inside, order through their website and pick it up. Everything is delicious.
The Food
The food at Champane’s Grille is fantastic. We have tried many of the breakfast options and are never disappointed. The food is fresh and well prepared. He almost always orders an omelet. I usually get the parfait, which is amazing. The fruit is fresh and ripe, and they drizzle their own honey over the top just before serving.
It tastes as delicious as it looks. Be sure to stop in at Champane’s Honeybee Grille for breakfast or lunch the next time you are in the area.
If you want to plan a day trip to the area, there are several parks and things to do in Oxford, just south of the diner, or in Metamora, just East of the restaurant. If you are looking for something a bit more unique, schedule a tour at Strawbale Studio.
