The Electric Coffee Company
Nestled in a quiet neighborhood north of downtown Port Huron, the Electric Coffee Company serves up delicious coffee drinks and treats. Just a few blocks away from the beach, this shop is an easy stop on your way to visit the wind and waves of Lake Huron. The coffee shop used to be a 1930s Shell gas station and repair shop. They kept all the great details of the building’s history inside and outside, and it’s coffee shop magic! The inside is clean and bright and filled with greenery, books, funky decor, and seating to accommodate those wanting to stay for a bit as well as those waiting for their orders. The staff is friendly, the coffee is tasty, and the treats are delicious.
Kate’s Downtown
Kate’s Downtown in Port Huron, Michigan, is charming. Downtown shops have their own unique appeal, and Kate’s is no exception. There is something comforting about a downtown that has stood the test of time. A link to our past, but reimagined for our “now.” Kate’s Downtown has a timelessness and a connection to the past with the vibrancy of today. A wide variety of breakfast and lunch dishes are available for your enjoyment. The Raspberry Chai is to die for. You have to go and try some. Oh, my! Just do it.
The Exquisite Corpse Coffee House
The Exquisite Corpse Coffee House is another cozy downtown coffee shop. This is one of those shops where you feel comfortable hanging out for a few hours. A place where you don’t feel rushed and just settle in. Great for catching up with friends, playing games, doing some work, reading, or just contemplating life and watching the world go by while sipping on some tasty (and pretty) coffee and munching on some light fare. The Exquisite Corpse also offers art for sale by local artists. If you are curious about the name, there is a really great story behind it. Read about the story here.
The Raven Cafe
The Raven Cafe in Port Huron is a quirky coffee shop stylized after Edgar Allen Poe. The coffee shop is organized a bit differently than your standard coffee shop and is more like a cafe/restaurant/bar. If you plan to have your drinks and food in the shop, wander around and find a cozy spot to sit, and the waitstaff will take your order and bring it to you. If you are getting your drinks to go, belly up to the bar and place your order. An entire mini library is housed in The Raven Cafe, complete with sections organized by genre. Grab a book and read some lines while you eat or drink. There is a system for you to save your spot if you want to come back and read again. See their website or ask the staff for details. It gets hectic here at peak times, so plan your trip accordingly. The Raven cafe serves delicious alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts. Stop in for lunch or dinner; you won’t be disappointed.
